The “Norwood Outdoor Pool” as it is
affectionately known, locally, is the oldest municipal swimming centre
in the state. In 2007 it celebrated its’ 50th birthday. Many
people fondly recall learning to swim there and yet express surprise
that it is still open and functioning. Where else in Adelaide can one
swim in crystal clear water, surrounded by huge red river gums? Look at
the picture in the banner. It is heated to a constant 27 degrees
centigrade. It is a non smoking facility.
